Wire Harness Engineering & DFM Support

Linkssor provides wire harness engineering support through Shenzhen Linkssor Technology Co., Ltd.: harness stress simulation and optimisation, wire routing and branch design, DFM/DFA review, connector selection and custom connector development. The team holds three registered software copyrights and one utility model patent for a waterproof connector with a self-locking mechanism.

Engineering support is where a mid-volume manufacturer earns its place on a programme. We do not claim to replace your design authority — we de-risk the manufacturing consequences of your design before tooling is committed.

Scope of engineering support

  • DFM / DFA review — Manufacturability and assembly review of your design, with a written list of concerns ranked by risk and cost impact.
  • Wire routing & branch design — Branch geometry, bend radius and anchor-point design to eliminate the flex fatigue points that cause field failures.
  • Stress simulation — Simulation of mechanical stress across specification variants, used to select conductor construction and strain relief.
  • Connector & terminal selection — Selection and cross-referencing of connector, terminal and seal systems, including sealed and high-voltage interfaces.
  • Custom connector development — Application-specific connector development, including self-locking and waterproof mechanisms, based on our granted utility model.
  • Process engineering — Crimp height and pull-force windows, forming-board design, test fixture design and process capability assessment.
  • Test engineering — Definition of electrical, environmental and endurance test plans, plus the fixtures to execute them.
  • Value engineering — Cost reduction through gauge optimisation, connector consolidation and process simplification — with the effect on reliability stated.
Design authority stays with you unless we agree otherwise in writing. Our IATF 16949 certificate excludes product design under Clause 8.3. Engineering support is delivered by our Shenzhen technology entity under a separate engineering scope. Where you require a supplier to hold design responsibility, we will state clearly in the contract which design record elements transfer to us.

What each system does

Harness Stress Simulation & Optimisation System V1.0Simulates stress distribution across multi-specification harness builds so bend radii, branch anchor points and strain relief are chosen from analysis rather than habit.
Machine-Vision Wire-Sequence Verification Platform V1.0Automatically verifies wire sequence and position against the approved layout, catching sequence errors that a continuity test alone would pass.
Harness Processing Parameter Collaborative Control System V1.0Centralises crimp, cut and test parameters across machines so the setting that produced the approved first article is the setting used in volume.
Waterproof Connector with Self-Locking MechanismA locking mechanism that resists vibration-induced disconnection in sealed interfaces — available for application-specific connector development.

FAQ

Do you charge for engineering support?

DFM review issued with a quotation is free. Simulation work, custom connector development and dedicated test-fixture design are quoted as separate engineering line items.

Can you sign an NDA before we share drawings?

Yes, and we prefer it that way. Send drawings only after the NDA is in place.

Who owns the design if you develop it?

It is agreed per programme in writing. Typically the design record transfers to you on payment of the development charge; we retain rights to our own patented mechanisms and tooling.

Can you work from a 3D CAD model?

Yes. STEP and IGES models let us validate branch lengths and bend radii before the forming board is built, which shortens first-article correction cycles.
